Enoshima is an Island connected with the mainland by a bridge. It locates 35 miles south of Tokyo and is about 2.8 miles in circumference. It has been popular for the destination of pilgrimage for 1500, which is originated to a Shinto god enshrined in a cave on the island by an Emperor in the middle of 5th century. Many samurai warriors visited to pray for their victories of battles during warring period. It has become a popular destination of pilgrimage of not only performers and actors but wisdom seekers and even love seekers since the unification of the country by Tokugawa Shogun.
In 2021, they host sailing games of 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Today, the great view of Mt. Fuji over the ocean, historic caves, Sea Candle lighthouse, English style Samuel Cock's Garden and Shrines attract a lot of visitors through the year.
